Divorce

Jewish tradition extols marriage but recognises that a breakdown of the relationship can occur, for a variety of causes, and so allows divorce. However, with regards to divorce, traditional Judaism has developed and maintains, elements of Jewish divorce that are unacceptable to Liberal Jewish values, particularly with regard to the giving of a 'get' - a bill of divorce.

For further published information, see ‘Where we stand on Jewish Marriage‘ by Rabbi David Goldberg.

In any case, people going through divorce may need fsupport or further information and can contact Rabbi Janes on 020 8446 4063.
