Health

The mitzvah of bikur cholim (visiting the sick) has the purpose of bringing comfort, company in loneliness, and helping to provide for the needs of those who are sick and their families, if necessary. Rabbi Rebecca Qassim Birk will visit people in hospitals and in home as well if we are notified.

We also would like to encourage individuals in our community to understand that the mitzvah of bikur cholim is not just for the Synagogue staff, but also for every individual Jew. We especially need help in forming connections with those who live in aged care facilities, who struggle with isolation from the community. If you know of someone who needs contact or if you can join our core of volunteers who make visits to homes of aged care, please visit the Contact Group page for more information.

Health problems can be very varied and complicated, from mental health problems to life threatening illness. If you are in need of support, please contact Rabbi Rebecca Qassim Birk on 020 8 446 4063 – or visit the Contact Group page for information about our community care system.
