Head of Ivriah

An enthusiastic Jewish educator with over 15 years of experience, Daniela Rotbande is proud to be Head of Ivriah. She decided to accept the challenge of joining FPS after 18 months at home following the birth of her first child, Laura. She previously worked with Rabbi Rebecca Qassim Birk at Westminster Synagogue, where she taught Hebrew for two and a half years. Back in her home town of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), she taught Hebrew and Jewish Studies to children and teenagers aged 7-14 at Eliezer Max-Nordau, a top Jewish day school in the city. She has also a long experience teaching youngsters and adults in small groups and privately.

Daniela holds a post-graduate degree in Educational Psychology from the Rio de Janeiro Centre for Educational Psychology, as well as a BA in Communication from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. Furthermore, she was trained as a Hebrew and Jewish Studies teacher at the Machon Greenberg institute in Jerusalem and at A. Liessin school in Rio de Janeiro. Daniela is fluent in English, Hebrew, Portuguese and Spanish.

Apart from teaching, writing Jewish Studies programmes and creating educational resources, Daniela’s involvement with the Jewish community includes a couple of years as a youth worker and a lifelong passion for Israeli dance.
