Maayan
Ma'ayan is the Adult Learning programme at FPS. Ma'ayan means wellspring and is a Hebrew word used to denote Jewish learning - a self-sustaining source of wisdom, which is constantly replenished and active.
Each term a variety of classes are offered, particularly on Wednesday nights. The classes are open to all levels and abilities, the only requirement is an interest to learn and discuss.
Ma'ayan incorporates the Basic Judaism course and Basic Hebrew for people choosing to learn about Judaism. Basic Judaism is a course if for people interested in converting to Judaism or Jews and non-Jews who just want to know more. Anyone is able to join this course as the programme is a rolling programme, each term starts a new focus of material. Basic Hebrew will take you from knowing nothing to a decent grasp of letters and reading of the prayers.
