Shabbat Resouled
Shabbat Resouled happens on the 3rd Friday of every month. People flock to be part of this service, like no other in the whole of Europe. A participative, musical Friday night service that revives the soul at the end of the working week. Music is provided by the incredible in-house volunteer band, with piano, guitar, flute, clarinet, bass, drums, saxophone, mandolin and harmonica. Join us! For more information click here.
The values of Shabbat Resouled are:
עונג שבת (Oneg Shabbat) / Delight of the Sabbath
Shabbat Resouled is about spirit (ruach) and enjoyment of the Friday Night service. You are encouraged to smile and to feel free to celebrate with our community.
הכנסת אורחים (Hachnasat Orchim) / Welcoming guests
Shabbat Resouled is about making every person feel welcome and comfortable in our community. You are encouraged to speak to someone you do not know and wish them Shabbat Shalom. Invite someone to share your Friday night dinner or return the invite that was offered to you last time.
כל הנשמה תהלל יה (Kol Haneshama tehallel Yah) / Inclusivity and Participation
Shabbat Resouled is about everybody being able and comfortable to join in with the service. Every member of the congregation is invited to sing, say the prayers and contribute as leader and participant. There are no italics in the siddur and you are invited to join in when you would like. Those not familiar with Hebrew can use the transliteration available for every prayer on the same page. If you would like a large print siddur please let us know.
שיר חדש (Shir Chadash) / A new song
Shabbat Resouled includes some new tunes and old favourites that are played and sung in the service. You are encouraged to be open to change and different styles of worship and music.
התנדבות (Hitnadvut) / Volunteer
Shabbat Resouled can only exist with the contribution of volunteers. You are encouraged to come forward if you would like to be part of it, perhaps singing, developing hospitality or service leading.
